★ my absolute favorite is significant character development. a switch in alignment (usually bad to good), going from asshole to slightly less of an asshole, etc.
★ jerks with a heart of gold. badasses with a heart of gold.
★ tragic backstory BUT the character is well-adjusted and their life doesn't revolve around their past, they don't brood constantly or let their past hold them back/define them. a+ if they've moved on/are actively trying to move on.
★ losers. idiots. dumb dweebs with a flair for dramatics. comic relief.
★ EYES. anything to do with eyes. eyepatch, blind, unique coloring, crazy eye powers, etc.
★ morally ambiguous character. refuses to see the world in black and white.
★ stoic characters with their occasional funny moments.
★ characters with an unrequited love/crush on someone.
★ have a hidden agenda of some kind, holding in a big secret that could be a game changer.
★ can go from complete dumbass to badass in a second. especially when a friend/family is endangered.
★ DEAD BEST FRIEND.
★ short-tempered, has anger issues.
